COVID-19
Accurate testing results within a timely manner to support a safe workplace and community
Ensuring the health and safety of your patients, employees and community at large requires a complete and robust solution for fast COVID-19 screening.
To aid in the effort to combat the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, National Labs offers a full-service package that includes both front-end specimen collection as well as back-end testing support, all by a state-of-the-art lab using the most current technology and methods.
Partnering with counties, public health departments, hospitals, clinics, businesses, schools, and long term care facilities, we use the RT-PCR testing method under EUA (emergency use authorization) based on anterior nares, nasopharyngeal and saliva specimen types. We also look at 3 genetic markers, instead of just 2, which can capture known COVID variants while eliminating concern over false negatives.

Early Intervention Can Save a Life
SpotCheck Plus: A breakthrough in behavioral health and alcohol testing—
only from National Labs
I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

The data you need for early intervention—
right at your fingertips.
Imagine detecting alcohol use, substance abuse, and medication adherence with a simple fingerstick—no needles, no vials, just quick, reliable results. SpotCheck Plus is revolutionizing behavioral health testing as the first all-in-one dried blood spot (DBS) solution, combining PEth and toxicology testing in a single, easy-to-use kit.

A Simple Test, A Life-Changing Impact
Early intervention is critical. Delays in test results or complex collection methods can lead to missed opportunities for prevention. SpotCheck Plus eliminates these barriers with a fast, painless test that:
-
Monitors alcohol use over the past 30 days
-
Detects 65 substances, including prescription and illicit drugs
-
Requires no lab visits, biohazard handling, or certified staff
Breaking Barriers for Better Outcomes
Traditional testing is slow, invasive, and complicated. SpotCheck Plus simplifies the process—ideal for clinics, remote settings, or crisis intervention centers—helping individuals stay on track and reducing costly hospital readmissions.
Key Features of SpotCheck Plus:

-
Unmatched Accuracy:
SpotCheck Plus uses advanced LCMS technology to deliver precise PEth and toxicology testing in one easy kit. It allows monitoring of alcohol use patterns and tracks 65 substances—including medications and illicit drugs—with a single test.

-
Ease of Use:
Collect samples almost anywhere with a simple finger stick—no labs, complex procedures, or certified staff required. See how easy it is, here.
-
Rapid Results:
Streamlined workflows and automated processing help providers detect risky behaviors sooner, facilitating timely intervention to prevent relapse.
-
Scalable & Accessible:
SpotCheck Plus is a cost-effective solution suitable for both large county programs and smaller clinics, offering industry-leading technology and accuracy to facilities of all sizes.
-
Advanced Alcohol Testing: The Significance of PEth
SpotCheck Plus utilizes PEth (Phosphatidylethanol) testing to track alcohol consumption patterns over the past month. PEth accumulates in red blood cells after alcohol intake, providing a reliable and detailed picture of drinking behavior for up to four weeks—offering deeper insights into alcohol use beyond simple detection.
This is particularly important, as alcohol remains the most widely abused substance in the U.S., affecting 28.3 million people (10.2% of individuals aged 12 and older) as of 2025.

-
A Comprehensive Overview:
SpotCheck Plus doesn’t just monitor alcohol use. It also tracks adherence to prescribed medications and detects substance abuse, offering a full picture to support informed, proactive decision-making by providers.

Why choose SpotCheck Plus? Because it’s:

Less invasive – No needles, no vials, no stress
Simple & Fast – Quick finger prick, easy transport,

Details Headline goes here and here
Phosphatidylethanol 16:0/18:1 (PEth) is a category of phospholipids that form on the surface of an individual’s red blood cells following alcohol consumption. While PEth levels will start to rise after a single drinking episode, the accumulation of PEth, identified through LCMS, helps characterize past drinking behaviors and patterns. The PEth result will fall into one of four general ranges for clinical consideration and interpretation.

<10 ng/ml | No Consumption
Indicates abstinence from alcohol.

10-20 ng/ml | Light or Limited Consumption
Indicates minimal alcohol consumption or limited occasional social drinking up to four weeks before specimen collection.

20-200 ng/ml | Significant Consumption
Indicates a moderate level of alcohol consumption up to four weeks before specimen collection.

>200 ng/ml | Heavy Consumption
Indicates excessive alcohol consumption up to four weeks before specimen collection.
Research shows that PEth’s highly sensitive nature is unaffected by incidental alcohol exposures, such as those from mouthwash or sanitizers. National Labs has carefully developed and validated specific thresholds in our method to minimize false positives and provide the most clinically useful information possible.
